TORONTO'S BIGGEST PARTY DRAWS CLOSE TO 1 MILLION

Toronto is hosting Canada`s biggest cultural party this weekend.

The annual Caribbean festival celebrates 50 years this weekend and its signature event runs Saturday, the Grand party along Lakeshore West at Exhibition Place. This year, the event will be live streamed to 110 countries around the world. The colourful costumes can take up to one year to create, some weight over 100 pounds and can stand 10 feet in height. Congestion is expected near the parade route Saturday so plan ahead. TTC and GO transit are adding extra service to and from Exhibition Place. Lakeshore is closed in both directions from Strachan to Colborne Lodge and d there will be no access to and from the Gardiner at Jameson and Dunn ramps. The road closures end Sunday morning at 6.
