A public memorial will be held this Friday for the late Toronto councillor Pam McConnell.
The “celebration of life” will take place at 1 p.m. inside St. James Cathedral on Church street. Those unable to get into the church for the memorial, can listen to a live broadcast at the park next door. Flags at City Hall and the Toronto civic centres will remain at half staff until Friday. A book of condolences will also be available the day of the service. McConnell represented Toronto Centre-Rosedale and was serving her 7th term on council. The deputy mayor died on July 7th. She was 71. Her family has requested donations be made to the following:
* Collection of Black Artists
* Dixon Hall Neighbourhood Services
* Riverdale Housing Animation Programs
