Wearing their bright red poppies, thousands of Canadians turned out today to either observe or take part in Remembrance Day Ceremonies.
Wearing her Royal Canadian Air Force uniform, Governor General Julie Payette took part in her first Remembrance Day observances since taking office as commander-in-chief of Canada’s military.
Prime MInister Justin Trudeau observed Remembrance day in Danang, Vietnam where he was attending the A-PEC Leaders Summit.
Trudeau recited a poem and sang the national anthem along with Canadian military personnel.
At Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, Mayor John Tory said no matter how long ago or far away the battles were, the men and women who served did so for the same reasons, and we must never forget what they did and why they did it.
