The Toronto-born actress who was one of the von Trapp family children in the blockbuster movie “The Sound of Music” has died.

Heather Menzies-Urich was 68.

Actor Ryan Urich said his mother died Sunday from brain cancer in the eastern Ontario community of Frankford.

She played Louisa, the third oldest of the seven von Trapp children in the 1965 mega-hit motion picture that starred Julie Andrews and another Toronto-born star, Christopher Plummer.

Her husband was actor Robert Urich who died in 2002. The couple had made their home in the Bellville area.
