A memorial service was held Sunday morning for Daniel Talbot, the co-founder of New York’s Lincoln Plaza Cinema, who died last week.

Talbot was in his 90’s and according to Variety magazine, was in declining health.

In the early 1960’s, Talbot ran the New Yorker Theatre, and in 1965 started the distribution company, New Yorker Films with Bernardo Bertolucci’s early film “Before The Revolution.”

It also released Louis Malle’s “My Dinner With Andre” as well as films by Jean-LucGodard and Werner Herzog.

The Lincoln Plaza Cinemas were described as “a temple of the art house movie scene in New York.”
