We’ll still be able to see American commercials when we watch this year’s Super Bowl game next Sunday.

Bell Canada, the owner of TSN and CTV, wants the ban on the substitution of Canadian ads lifted, and had asked for a stay of the ban during it’s appeal of the matter to the Supreme Court of Canada.

It was given a leave to appeal by the Court, but not a stay of the ban while the case proceeds.

The ban was announced by the CRTC in 2015 after listening to many wiewers who wanted to see the American ads,and not the substituted Canadian ones on the Super Bowl broadcats on U.S. channels.
