Premier Kathleen Wynne is taking aim at P-C Leader Doug Ford, warning in a post-budget speech that his election would set the province back. Wynne told the Economic Club of Canada the choice in the spring election will be between the care that would be provided by a Liberal government, or cuts that would come under the Tories. Ford didn’t respond to Wynn’s comments instead sending out parliamentary leader Vic Fideli who says Wynn is sending a tone of desperation. Last week’s budget has 20 billion dollars in new spending in health care, child care and seniors moving the province back into deficit. Doug Ford has said a Tory government would focus on tackling the provincial debt by finding efficiencies but Wynne says he’d have to make deep cuts to balance his budget.
