The world’s oldest person has died.

117-year-old Nabi Tajima of Japan had been the oldest person for 7 months. She’s been confined to a hospital since January.

Tajima was the last known person to have been born in the 19th century.

According to the Gerontology Research Group based in the U-S, the world’s oldest person now is Chiyo Miyako, another Japanese woman, who will turn 117 on May 2nd.
