HORSES KILLED IN NORTH TORONTO STABLE FIRE

A fire in north end Toronto early Monday morning has killed 16 horses.

The blaze broke out at about 3:00 a.m. Monday at Sunnybrook Stables located in Sunnybrook Park just south of the Bridle Path

One barn was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on the scne, and a seconD barn had just begun to burn.

Police and Toronto Fire Services say thirteen horses survived, and some of them were taken to stables located at Exhibition Place.

About 40 firefighters were on the scene, and brought the blaze under control by about 6:00 a.m.
