An airline employee stole a plane at Seattle’s Sea-Tac airport Friday evening, causing two F-15 fighter jets to be sctrambled before  the plane crashed, killing the person flying it.

There was no other person on board the aircraft, a Horizon Air Q-400 twin-engine turboprop.

There were no injuries on the ground.

Officials say the man was employed as an airport ground service agent who helped direct planes to the gate, and to de-ice aircraft.

His conversations with an air traffic controller led officials to believe the 29 year old man may have been suicidal.

He can be heard on one conversation with the tower saying he was “just a broken guy” and apologizing for disappointing the people who cared about him.

Authorities say there is no connection to terrorism.
