Southern Ontario is preparing to get drenched by a significant rainfall for the third time this month and it could impact the morning commute. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for areas from Windsor to Toronto, warning of the potential for heavy rainfall today and torrential downpours in some regions. Toronto experienced flash flooding earlier this month when up to 100 millimeters of rain fell in just two hours and another downpour last Friday flooded some downtown streets and forced some transit service to be shut down. The TTC and GO transit say they are monitoring today’s situation. The CAA is warning people and motorists to stay away from standing water, because it’s unsafe for the driver and damaging to the vehicle.
