Defections could be imminent at Queens Park. According to the Toronto Star, the PC’s fear several disgruntled party members are set to cross the floor to join the Liberals saying it’s the reason behind Premier Doug Ford’s decision to increase the threshold for official party status from 8 MPP’s to 12. Just one defection would give the 7-member Liberals official status. A Tory insider is quoted as saying  at least two members..from Greater Toronto and Hamilton may jump ship.Floor crossings are rare at Queens Park, the last time was in 2007. And yesterday, a source close to the Premier expressed concern over rookie MPP Amanda Simard switching parties.
