Toronto’s Mayor has issued his New Year’s greeting. John Tory says there are many things residents can look forward to in 2019 like building transit and an increase of affordable housing.

The PC’s have stopped a planned increase in driver and vehicle fees set to take effect today. The government has cancelled a planned increase in the minimum wage that was supposed to kick in January 1. They’ve also eliminated two paid sick days for government workers. The PC’s have introduced a tax credit to take effect today for low income individuals and families giving up to $850.
The province’s lieutenant governor is hosting her annual New Year’s levee today. The public is invited to drop by Queens Park until 2 p.m. New Years Day to meet Elizabeth Dowdeswell.
