If you have driven around the city of Toronto then you know the roadways are in pretty bad shape.

The freeze and thaw cycle is causing pot holes to pop up everywhere.

That’s why the city is launching the first of what will likely be many pothole blitzes Saturday.

“We ask motorists to please recognize our crews out there.  Give them the time and space necessary so we can fill the potholes and get these roads in a state of good repair.” Said Mark Mills, Superintendent of Road Operations for the City of Toronto.

So far the city has filled more than 13,000 potholes.

More than 4,000 are expected to be filled-in and patched up this weekend.
