Former Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould can finally tell her side of the S-N-C-Lavalin saga to thejustice committee and the ethics commissioner. The Prime Minister signed an order that lifts confidentiality restrictions on the former attorney general. But she can’t talk about any information or communications she had with the director of public prosecutions about the case. The Prime Minister’s office has been accused of trying to influence the criminal case involving SNC Lavalin, something Justin Trudeau has denied. Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer says Canadians should be outraged that Liberal politicians made any attempt to influence the outcome of the S-N-C-Lavalin criminal case
Meantime, a new angus Reid Poll, indicates two thirds of Canadians views the SNC Lavalin affair as a sign of Deeper Scandal within the Prime Minister’s Office. 63 per cent want SNC Lavalin fully prosecuted under the criminal code. And six in ten Canadians say they have an unfavourable view of the Prime Minister. As a result. the poll suggests the Conservative Party has 38 per cent support, the Liberals have 31 per cent and New Democrats 14 per cent. However, Trudeau isn’t the only party leader viewed unfavourably by a majority of Canadians. 54 per cent don’t like Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer and 64 per cent don’t care for NDP Leader Jugmeet Singh.
