It’s St. Patrick’s Day!  And revelers are being reminded to plan ahead if they plan on drinking.

R.I.D.E stops will be taking place throughout the city Sunday as officers attempt to deter anyone from driving while impaired.

“Too many people are still making the choice to drive impaired, whether it be by alcohol or drugs.  This year alone we have arrested over 200 people, last year over a thousand.  So the numbers are still a big concern for us.”said Toronto Police Traffic Services Sergeant Brett Moore.

Those who are looking for a safe ride on Sunday have a free option thanks to the TTC.

The Commission is offering free streetcar rides on the 501 Queen, 504 King and 514 Cherry routes starting at 4 o’clock.
