Leader Andrew Scheer accuses the Liberals of a dangerous pattern of trying to use the judicial system to advance their political agenda, including withholding documents from Norman’s legal team. Conservative MP Erin O’Toole says evidence of interference by the prime minister or one of his closest adviser is “overwhelming.” Prosecutors in Ottawa stayed the charge against the military’s suspended second-in-command, who was accused of spilling government secrets in a navy shipbuilding contract and said there was never any political interference. Norman’s lawyer alleged the Liberals withheld key documents that could have helped him demonstrate his innocence.
