It’s Canada’s Birthday! The big 152! And of course celebrations are planned across the nation as well as in the GTA.
At Queen’s Park the Liberal Party of Ontario has stepped up to host “The People’s Picnic”.
This comes after the Ford government cancelled Canada day festivities on the grounds of the legislature.
The “People’s Picnic” runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday.
In an effort to make up for the cancellation of the annual Canada Day party at Queen’s Park, the Ford Government has offered up free admission to the first 500 people at 10 Ontario attractions including the Ontario Science Centre and the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls.
All LCBO and Beer Stores are closed Canada Day Monday as are all banks and government buildings.
Some Malls are closed, but The Eaton Centre, Square One and Vaughan Mills Mall are open.
All City of Toronto pools, splash pads and historic sites are all open.
The TTC is running on a holiday schedule while GO Transit is running on a Saturday schedule.
And some good news for drivers, Toronto Police will not be enforcing most on-street parking bylaws.
