CARIBBEAN CARNIVAL TAKES OVER TORONTO SATURDAY

The Toronto Caribbean Carnival, which used to be known as Caribana is taking over the City of Toronto Saturday.

The Grand parade is set to run until 9 o’clock Saturday night with various block parties and events taking place throughout the downtown core.

Toronto Police are encouraging anyone heading downtown to take public transit given there are numerous road closures.

The Westbound Lakeshore and eastbound Lakeshore are shut down between Colborne Lodge and Bathurst Street.

Dufferin Avenue is closed south of Springhurst Avenue, as is Strachan south of Liberty Street.

A number of Gardiner ramps are also affected.

The Westbound Gardiner ramp to Jameson and Dunn are closed…

The ramps from Jameson and British Columbia to the Eastbound Gardiner are also closed.
