Ontario will eliminate some ineffective medical tests and duplicate doctors services as it cuts costs to health care.
The changes-that go into effect October 1st-include scrapping some ineffective infertility tests and some pre-operation assessments.The cuts were made on recommendations from a committee made up of members of the province and the Ontario Medical Association.The group also recommended updates to some cardiac monitoring devices.The province says the recommendations will result in $83 million a year in savings.
