POLICE OFFICER WHO WROTE "WILDFLOWER" HAS DIED

He wrote the lyrics to one of this country’s most popular songs.

Dave Richardson, the police officer who penned Skylark’s hit “Wildflower” has died.

“Wildflower was the third single from British Columbia band Skylark, featuring up-and-comers like superstar producer and pianist David Foster.

Wildflower is one of the most performed Canadian songs in history with more than one million copies sold and over two million plays in the U.S.

It was the band’s one and only hit.

Dave Richardson was 77 years old.
