The province has heard from a panel of experts tasked with making recommendations for a new Ontario Autism Program. The group, made up of parents, autistic adults and psychologists, was assembled after parents protested the provincial government’s changes to autism funding. The group adds exact amounts will be determined later. Families launched massive protests that forced Premier Doug Ford’s government to back down on a plan with income-based funding caps that parents claim were inadequate.
