Happy birthday to a true force of nature. “Hurricane” Hazel McCallion celebrated her milestone birthday this weekend with family and friends. The former Zoomer Magazine cover girl turns 99 on Valentine’s day.

Hazel served as Mississauga’s Mayor for 36 years and current Mayor Bonnie Crombie says “Hazel is an inspiration to women everywhere.” Hazel credits her longevity to hard work and keeping active.

Mayor John Tory says the soon-to-be centennarian continues to “inspire communities across the GTA.”
