Canadian Health Minister Patty Hajdu says Canadians have to take seriously the likelihood that the new coronavirus will become a pandemic. She says COVID-19 is spreading around the world and we in Canada have to be prepared. There are 11 confirmed or presumptive cases of the virus reported in Canada, but most people have recovered and the rest are not too ill. Hajdu says health officials in Canada do have a plan in place for a pandemic and adds other countries are starting to realize the virus is spreading. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is telling Americans to prepare for the spread of the coronavirus across the United States. C-D-C Doctor Nancy Messonnier said it’s not a question of IF but WHEN. She says Americans should be ready for a significant disruption to their daily live and to prepare for the expectation that this “might be bad.”
