Some good news on the COVID 19 front in Ontario. Matthew Anderson, President of Ontario Health says the province has hit the COVID-19 peak early thanks to stay-at-home and physical distancing measures. But while community spread is coming under control, sadly it’s growing in long term care homes where there are outbreaks in 127 homes. Public health officials are now looking at bringing back elective procedures back as thousand of surgeries were cancelled due to the pandemic. Along with the optimistic outlook, Premier Doug Ford says “we’re still in the middle of a battle” and cautions the province won’t be open for business for weeks and encourages residents to continue to be vigilant with physical distancing and staying home.

Provincial health officials predict there will be fewer than 20,000 COVID-19 cases in the first wave, which is far less than the previous forecast of 80,000 just two weeks ago.
