Doug Ford says his government has put out the call to education workers to help out in long term care, shelters, and hospitals to join the fight against COVID-19 on the front lines. Custodians, social workers and administrative staff are able to volunteer to work within these facilities that have been hit hard by the virus. Ford says “the response has been overwhelming.”
Meantime, Education Minister Stephen Lecce would not comment on when or if the school year will resume but says an announcement is coming next week. ” And we’ll let you know both the decision for June as well as the intention to scale up in a significant way our learning program for the summer to keep our kids engaged in the curriculum,” said Lecce.
