Premier Doug Ford is asking public health officials to come up with a plan for expanded COVID-19 testing next week after falling a fourth straight day below the provincial goal of at least 16,000 daily tests. Yesterday, there were just over 10,550 tests done across the province. “I’m obsessed with this testing as you can tell, I’m a little wound up today because I want to see the testing, it’s simple!” said Ford. “Let’s see what happens next week and let’s start getting out there and testing everyone possible.” The premier adds that would include those who are asymptomatic as well as truckers, taxi drivers, automotive workers, those in food manufacturing, front-line healthcare staff and everyone in long-term care again. Ford wants teachers and daycare workers tested but not students.
