Premier Doug Ford says it could cost $23 billion for Ontario alone to recover from COVID-19, much more than the $14 billion announced by Ottawa for all of Canada. “It just won’t cut it,” Ford told reporters at the daily pandemic briefing. “We need a sustained long term commitment, our front line health care workers are counting on it, our municipalities are counting on it and our long term care residents are counting on it and we can’t do it along, we need the federal government’s help on this.”
Ford also says stage two of the re-opening won’t happen anytime soon, without more more help from the federal government.
