As more people return to work, the Ontario government is partnering with public transit operators across the province to implement safety measures. Premier Doug Ford rode the GO train this morning from Oshawa to Whitby to reassure riders it’s safe.

“When I went on the train today, it was an incredible experience,” Ford told reporters. “It was clean, it was safe and I encourage people to hop on train, take a ride and you’ll feel a lot more comfortable.”

The Ontario and federal governments are providing up to $2 billion to 110 municipalities for transit.
