Six more Toronto schools will now be closed for in-person learning until January 4th because of COVID-19 outbreaks.
Toronto Mayor John Tory explained on Monday morning, the decision was made by Toronto Public Health based on what’s happening in the communities where the schools are located.
“Even with a small number of cases you’re looking at what the possibilities and probabilities are of that kind of thing increasing, so that you’d have more spread and they make their decisions accordingly,” Mayor Tory explained to CP24.
Students and staff at City Adult Learning Centre, Humewood Community School, RH McGregor Elementary School, David Lewis Public School, Grenoble Public School and Oakridge Junior Public school move to online learning this week.
Already closed because of COVID-19 are Thorncliffe Park Public School, Fraser Mustard Early Learning Academy and Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute.
