Broadway soprano Rebecca Luker has died.
The three-time Tony nominated actress, who starred in some of the biggest Broadway hits over the past thirty years, was nominated for best actress in 2000 when she played Marian in the Music Man. Her other roles included Mary Poppins and Christine in Phantom of the Opera.
Luke succumbed to Lou Gehrig’s disease, or A-L-S. That is the same illness that claimed the life of our Classical FM friend and colleague Maestro Kerry Straton.
Rebecce Luker was 59.
