A COVID-19 vaccination clinic opens Monday at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Mayor John Tory explained on Monday morning, it gives people hope for a number of reasons.

“The whole idea here is to have a clinic that can vaccinate frontline healthcare workers initially, so it’s not for the public, but learn the lessons that have to be learned, so that when they roll out fifty or even a hundred of these kind of vaccination clinics around the province that all of the bugs have been worked out, Tory told CP24.

Initially, 250 healthcare workers will be vaccinated daily at the Convention centre site with plans eventually to vaccinate people in the wider public.

The rollout of the vaccine is entirely dependent upon supply.

It was announced on Friday by Pfizer-BioNTech that international shipments of its vaccine are temporarily delayed while production facilities in Europe are upgraded.
