Irish music bad boy Sir Van Morrison has started legal action against the Irish government over the COVID bans on live music performances.
The 75 year old music legend has released several anti-lockdown songs in past few weeks. One of them demands “No more lock down, no more government over reach.”
Sir Van’s lawyer is asking the high court in Belfast to review the policy on behalf of the thousands of musicians, artists, venues and those involved in the live music industry.
By the way, proceeds from the anti-lock down tracks help support Morrison’s Lock Down Financial Hardship Fund, which in turn helps musicians facing difficulties as a result of the COVID-19 and the resulting measures to try to control it.
