It was back to class for students in Southwestern and Eastern Ontario, Middlesex-London and Ottawa.
Schools in Toronto, Peel, York Region, Hamilton and Windsor are currently scheduled to open their doors to students February 10.
That’s the hope according to Education Minister Stephen Lecce.
”We’ve been consistent that we want to get all students, in all regions of our province back to school.   That is a consensus position of our government,” says Lecce.
Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams, says trends suggest transmission rates are falling in some of the hot spots, and he too is hopeful all students will be back in class next week.
He adds local medical officers of health will have a say in that.
Late in the day, Lecce tweeted Dr. Williams confirmed to him and the premier that he will finalize his advice by mid-week.
”The Government will provide certainty parents deserve by announcing on Wednesday the dates for reopening,” the education minister added.
