Believe it or not, it’s been 50-years since one of the best-selling and most loved albums of all time was released.
February 10th, 1971, Carole King’s “Tapestry” hit the record shops.
“Tapestry” swept the Grammys the following year and stayed on the Billboard album chart for more than 300 weeks. It was King’s second solo studio album and sold over 14 million copies.
“Tapestry” still ranks 25th on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
King’s song book became”Beautiful: The Carol King Musical,” which had a number of runs in Toronto before the pandemic.
