Health Canada decision makers are taking more time on whether to move forward on approving the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, after signalling two weeks ago the ruling could be imminent.
Now there is a suggestion Johnson and Johnson’s candidate will be the third vaccine approved for use in Canada, in addition to Moderna’s and the vaccine by Pfizer BioNTech.
The AstraZeneca vaccine has been authorized by more than two-dozen jurisdictions, with both the United States and the European Medicines Agency expected to make their decisions in coming weeks.
