Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have spoken publicly for the first time since stepping back from the royal family and some of what they revealed suggests there is racism within the royal family and Buckingham Palace staff.
Meghan explained they had no choice but to leave after Buckingham Palace staff prevented her from getting help when she began having suicidal thoughts.
In last night’s highly publicized 2 hour interview to Oprah, Meghan explained the mental suffering she experienced after becoming the Duchess of Sussex led to her telling Harry that she “didn’t want to be alive anymore.”
Then there were the revelations around Harry and Meghan’s son Archie.
“In those months when I was pregnant, all around the same time, so we have in tandem the conversation of he (Archie) won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title, and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born,” Meghan explained in a jaw-dropping moment.
Meghan Markle is of mixed race, and both she and Harry say racism certainly played into how they were treated as a couple; different and much less favourably than other royals.
This is the first interview Meghan and Harry have given since moving to California to lead independent lives.
