The highly contagious variant of COVID-19 that’s spread around the world since it was discovered in the United Kingdom last year is between 30% and 100% more deadly than previous dominant variants.
This comes from a study that compared death rates among those in Britain infected with B117 against those infected with other variants and concluded B117’s mortality rate was ”significantly higher.”
The variant was discovered in Britain last September.
It’s since been found in over 100 countries, including Canada.
