The last surviving child of Flying Wallendas’ founder Carl Wallenda has died.

Carla Wallenda, the sure footed mainstay of the high wire act was with the troupe for seven decades, performing heart-stopping aerial stunts into her 80s.

She told TV interviewer in Florida a couple of years ago that, despite a number of aliments, she simply couldn’t stop performing.

She made her high-wire debut at the age of six weeks when her father rode a bicycle on a wire while her mother sat on his shoulders held her up for the audience.

Her death was confirmed by her son, Rick.  No cause was given.

Carla Wallenda was 85.
