At a time when a federal election seems likely, many Canadians would like to see a change in the political landscape in Ottawa.
However, a new survey finds few respondents want one before fall.
The latest poll from Angus Reid Institute finds half of Canadians (49%) say it’s time to switch things up, while about one-third (35%) disagree.
With so many focused on an end to pandemic life, the notion of an election in the spring is overwhelmingly unpopular and even the summer is considered too soon by 63%.
Two-thirds say it would be more appropriate to go to the polls between September and December.
Current voter intention finds the Trudeau Liberals holding a four-point advantage over Erin O’Toole and the Conservatives (35%-to-31%), while Jagmeet Singh and the NDP has 19% support.
