It turns out Niagara MPP Sam Oosterhoff did speak Wednesday night at a controversial event, organized by National Campus Life Network, an organization that recently tweeted U.S. President Joe Biden’s pro-choice policy is the same as Hitler’s priority to kill Jews.

What we don’t know is if Premier Doug Ford had a discussion with the pro-life MPP ahead of the event. Although on Tuesday, Ford promised to do so.

“Everyone has the right to believe in what they want,” Ford told reporters Tuesday, “I’m not one to dictate anyone’s believe, but what I don’t believe in is comparing abortion to the Holocaust. That’s just wrong. Nothing should be compared to the Holocaust. That’s unique, but I’ll speaking to Sam tonight.”

There are calls from opposition MPPs for the premier to remove Ohsterhoff as parliamentary assistant to the education minister.

Liberal strategist Bob Richardson told Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with Libby Znaimer that’s a very good idea.

“I think he’s a loose canon and I think there’s immaturity here that I think is too bad, and I think a little bit of time on the back bench to think about this wouldn’t be bad for Mr. Oosterhoff and wouldn’t be bad for the government.”

Sam Ohsterhoff became the youngest MPP ever elected at the age of 19 in November of 2016.
