Saying the province is getting needles in arms even faster than it had imagined, Doug Ford’s announced that starting Monday Ontarians 75-plus can begin booking appointments for a COVID-19 vaccine shot.
Also Monday, pharmacies will begin offering the AstraZeneca vaccine to those 60-plus.
Previously they were only offering the shot to those 60 to 64 but the government’s now expanding it after new guidelines deemed it safe for those 65 and older.
Currently 327 pharmacies in three regions; Toronto, Kingston and Windsor are taking part in the program.
That number will nearly double to about 700 across the province by the end of March.
More than 1,500 pharmacies will be offering vaccines by the end of April.
The province says so far 91,000 have received a shot at participating pharmacies.
