ACTOR GEORGE SEGAL DIES AT 87

George Segal, the banjo player turned actor who was nominated for an Oscar for 1966’s “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and starred in the ABC sitcom “The Goldbergs,” has died.

The family confirms Segal passed yesterday at his home in Santa Rosa, California, due to complications from bypass surgery.

Segal was best known as a comic actor; winning two Golden Globes, including for best actor in a musical or comedy motion picture for his role in “A Touch of Class.”

George Segal was 87.
