For those 75+ looking to get a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, Toronto is reporting an abundance of openings.

Toronto Mayor John Tory says the city’s mass vaccination sites have the supply, they have the space, they just people coming in to get vaccinated.

“There are thousands of appointments available next week,” Mayor John Tory told CP24. “We want people to go to their relatives and friends or themselves and sign up. They can do it by phone or online. We are working with the province to see about lowering that age range to 70.”

Tory said there were a few small hiccups in the opening days of the clinics but adds things are running smoothly.

Some of the clinics will be able to administer 6,000 vaccines a day.

Appointments can be booked on the provincial site at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine. Those looking for help in getting an appointment can also call 1-888-999-6488.
