The minimum age for COVID-19 vaccines has been lowered to 70 and over in ten more public health units in Ontario.

As of Monday March 29th, people born in 1951 and earlier may use the provincial system at ontario.ca/bookvaccine to make appointments for their shots in these regions, which include Hamilton, Grey Bruce, Peel and Ottawa.

The other public health units where residents born in 1951 and earlier can book their vaccines are Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington Public Health; Lambton Public Health; Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit; Niagara Region Public Health; Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit; and Timiskaming Health Unit.

Residents of Toronto who are 70-plus were able to start booking their COVID vaccines on Saturday.

Other regions, such as Halton and York, have also lowered the minimum age to 70.

In the City of Toronto, two new mass sites open on Monday; one in Scarborough at Malvern Community Recreation Centre and the other in North York at Mitchell Field Community Centre.

In Peel, same day appointments are available for people 70 and older along with those in other priority groups at the regions’ clinics.
