On this coming Easter weekend, the CEO of the Daily Bread Food Bank is asking us to help those who’s situations have been worse by the pandemic.

Zoomer Radio Friend Neil Hetherington says the number of food bank users has gone from 60,000 a month to a high of 110,000 during the COVID crisis.

“And with the news of the coming provincial lockdown, we expect that those who were already in precarious employment, were already in a difficult predicament, might find themselves at home and unable to meet the needs of their families,” Hetherington explained to CP24.

Hetherington says the Daily Bread Food Bank is here to advocate for change and help.

With this in mind, he suggests you email or call your MP about the dire situation.

There is a drive-thru contactless Spring food drive taking place at 191 New Toronto Street on Saturday. Food donations can also be dropped off at the Rogers Centre on Saturday and anytime at any Toronto fire hall.

There’s more information on all of the ways to give at dailybread.ca.
