The  marquee lights at the Ed Mirvish Theatre on Victoria Street in Toronto will be dimmed tonight at 8 o’clock in honour of Jim Steinman and his theatrical legacy.

Steinman wrote the music for the musical “Bat out of Hell,” which had its North American premiere at the Ed Mirvish Theatre on October 14, 2017.

Steinman’s songs are among the most popular of all time, breaking sales records and becoming an integral part of world culture.

Jim Steinman died of kidney failure earlier this week at his home near Ridgefield, Connecticut.

He was 73.
