POLL: CANADIANS CONFIDENCE IN ASTRAZENECA COVID-19 VACCINE RISES

A new survey reveals expansion in eligibility, along with assurances from medical professionals that the benefits of far outweigh the rare blood clot risk has had a positive impact on public opinion of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Angus Reid Institute found among Canadians willing but yet to be inoculated, half (52%) say they are comfortable receiving it; an 11% increase from two weeks ago.
At the same time, the comfort level with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine has fallen to 54%; a drop of 16% after it was paused in the U.S. due to similar rare side effects.
This week, Canada’s expected to get 1.9-million doses of vaccine, including the first shipment of 300,000 of the J & J shots.
One-million doses are from Pfizer and 650,000 from Moderna.
