Some good news for the adult children of Zoomers, who are trying to get into the housing market.
GTA home sales started to slow in April after months of frantic activity.
There were 13,663 sales home last month; a 362% increase from April 2020, which was the first full month of the pandemic, but down 12.7% down from March.
New listings in April soared by 237% compared with last year but fell 8.4% compared with March 2021.
In addition, the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board says the average selling price in April was $1,090,992.
That’s 33% higher than a year ago but down 1% from this March.
TRREB’s Jason Mercer describes the decrease as ”modest slowing” and points out prices across all major home types remain very high.
