The Trudeau government’s ban on direct flights from India and Pakistan is being extended until June 21.
It was set to expire tomorrow.
Travellers can still fly here from those countries but arrive via a third country.
They’ll need to produce a negative COVID-19 test taken at their last point of departure before being allowed to enter.
Cargo flights are still permitted in order to maintain shipments of essentials, such as vaccines and personal protective equipment.
The ban was first imposed April 22 to help control the spread of new variants, including the one in India.
The World Health Organization recently classified it as a variant of global concern.
